Captain Ibrahim Traore’s Strong Message To The World: “We Are Not In A Democracy, We Are Indeed In A Revolution, Progressive Popular”

COMRADES, GOOD MORNING!

Today is April 1st, marking the beginning of the second quarter of the year 2025 and, of course, the end of the first quarter. I trust that all office heads and department heads have reviewed the first quarter and set goals for the second quarter.

In any case, the objective remains the same: to sacrifice oneself and always give the best of oneself for the happiness of our people and the glory of our homeland. Therefore, I invite everyone to set new goals for this second quarter and to give their best, both in service and in everyday life, so that our homeland can continue to shine.

TRIBUTE TO OUR FIGHTING FORCES

To the different fighting forces on the ground, I want to pay tribute to them for the exceptional work accomplished throughout the past quarter. We have made significant progress, reclaiming areas that were under terrorist control for four or five years. These areas have now been liberated, and others are currently in the consolidation phase. This is a very significant achievement.

However, I must call upon the other forces in relatively calm areas to remain vigilant and on constant alert. The treachery of the enemy is such that when we experience relative peace and lower our guard, we can suffer unexpected attacks. Therefore, I urge all those in relatively secure positions to remain ever-vigilant and not be caught off guard.

A CALL TO ALL WORKERS

To all workers, I urge you to redouble your efforts so that 2025 is a year crowned with success at all levels. Our homeland depends on our collective determination and hard work. Let us stay committed to building a prosperous future.

A WARNING TO THE GENERAL POPULACE

I urge the general populace to be vigilant. More than ever, the stateless enemies of our nation are highly active. You have seen their gatherings by the lagoon over the past few days. Their objective is clear: they want to drag Burkina Faso back to the events of 1987. However, they fail to realize that times have changed.

We are on high alert. We are waiting for them—along with their mercenaries and their actions—and let it be known: we will be ruthless. They can continue to dream, but Burkina Faso will continue to move forward.

STAY VIGILANT AGAINST MANIPULATION

Since my last speech in Zinari, I have once again emphasized the need for everyone to remain vigilant and not fall for manipulation. Their tactics rely on misinformation, subversion, and manipulation. Everyone must stay calm and focused to avoid being misled.

We will not tolerate those who allow themselves to be manipulated. Only the greedy—those who want everything for themselves—can be swayed by these stateless individuals. Let us stay focused and unwavering in our mission.

BURKINA FASO IS IN A REVOLUTION

Let me make this clear once more: we are not in a democracy; we are in a progressive popular revolution. It is shocking that so-called intellectuals who have received formal education still believe that a country can develop through democracy. That is false! There is no country that has developed purely through democracy—it is only the culmination. Development inevitably requires a revolution, and we are in the midst of one.

Everyone must internalize this. It is our role to communicate, to explain, and to make people understand the essence of our revolution. We will continue to do so.

ORDER AND DISCIPLINE: THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR REVOLUTION

There is no place for disorder in our revolution. I have said it before: as much as you think you are free to speak and act, others are also free to speak and act. Without discipline, this results in a chaotic society.

It is no coincidence that we are celebrating our patriotic days under the theme of order and discipline. A revolution cannot succeed in disorder. We will establish order and discipline so that we can progress. Social, economic, political, and ideological reforms all require order and discipline, and everyone has a role to play in ensuring this.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE REVOLUTION
