Call for Patience and Support<\/strong><\/h2>

Former Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)<\/strong>, George Afriyie<\/strong>, has urged the current administration to “keep faith”<\/strong> in Otto Addo<\/strong>, despite Ghana\u2019s poor performance in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers<\/strong>.<\/p>

The Black Stars<\/strong> are currently on a four-game winless streak<\/strong> under coach Addo and face the real possibility of missing out on AFCON<\/strong> for the first time since 2004<\/strong>.<\/p>

Ghana\u2019s Poor Standing in Group F<\/strong><\/h2>

Ghana currently sits in third place<\/strong> in Group F<\/strong>, with just two points out of a possible 12<\/strong>. The team is in danger of elimination<\/strong>, trailing behind Angola<\/strong> and Sudan<\/strong>.<\/p>

Afriyie Advocates for Stability<\/strong><\/h2>

Despite growing calls for Addo\u2019s dismissal, Afriyie believes the coach should be given more time<\/strong>.<\/p>

\u201cI am not one of those who will say we have to sack Otto. We have to keep faith with him and make sure that he continues the process he has started because remember we still have the World Cup qualifiers,\u201d<\/strong> Afriyie stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>

He further stressed the importance of supporting Addo<\/strong>, allowing him to learn on the job<\/strong> and focus on long-term development<\/strong> rather than short-term results.<\/p>

\u201cWe have to give him the needed support. Going forward in this AFCON [qualifiers], let\u2019s accept that we are out and allow Otto to take his decisions and learn on the job, and then we move forward.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>

Ghana\u2019s Slim Chances of Qualification<\/strong><\/h2>

To qualify for AFCON 2025<\/strong>, Ghana must win both of their remaining matches<\/strong> against Angola<\/strong> and Niger<\/strong> in November<\/strong>.<\/p>

At the same time, Sudan<\/strong>, currently in second place with seven points<\/strong>, must fail to win<\/strong> their remaining games for Ghana to have a realistic shot at qualifying.<\/p>

Meanwhile, Angola has already secured qualification<\/strong> with 12 points<\/strong>, while Niger remains at the bottom<\/strong> with just one point<\/strong>.<\/p>
