President John Dramani Mahama<\/strong> has called on young Ghanaians to step up, seize government opportunities, and contribute to building a self-sufficient nation<\/strong>. Speaking at the 68th Independence Day Anniversary<\/strong> on Thursday<\/strong>, he emphasized that Ghana\u2019s economic future lies in the hands of its youth<\/strong>.<\/p>

Agriculture as the Key to Reducing Import Dependency<\/strong><\/h2>

Highlighting agriculture as Ghana\u2019s biggest opportunity<\/strong> to reduce reliance on imports, President Mahama revealed that the country spends over $2 billion annually on food imports<\/strong>. To tackle this issue, the government has introduced the Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA)<\/strong>, aimed at strengthening local agribusiness<\/strong> and ensuring food security<\/strong>.<\/p>

Feed Ghana Programme and Poultry Farm-to-Table Initiative<\/strong><\/h2>

As part of efforts to boost agricultural productivity, the Feed Ghana Programme<\/strong> will drive mass food production<\/strong> and stabilize prices<\/strong>. To further enhance agricultural development and ensure food security, Farmer Service Centres<\/strong> will be established in every district<\/strong>.
