Captain Planet, a founding member of the legendary Ghanaian hip hop group 4×4<\/strong>, has firmly dismissed fans\u2019 calls for a group comeback.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A Look Back at 4×4\u2019s Legacy<\/strong><\/h2>

Formed in 2000, 4×4 originally comprised Captain Planet (Sylvanus Dodji Jeoffrey)<\/strong> and Coded (formerly known as Abortion, real name Russell Edem Avornyo)<\/strong>. Later, Fresh Prince (Prince Tamakloe)<\/strong> joined the group. Together, they dominated the Ghanaian music scene with chart-topping hits and a slew of award nominations and wins. Their infectious energy and dynamic sound helped shape the modern Afrobeats and hiplife landscape.<\/p>

However, by 2015<\/strong>, the group became inactive as each member shifted focus to solo careers.<\/p>

“No More 4×4”: Captain Planet Speaks Out<\/strong><\/h2>

In a candid post on X (formerly Twitter)<\/strong> dated April 21, 2025<\/strong>, Captain Planet addressed the ongoing speculation:<\/p>

\"\"\u201cWhy everybody dey ask when 4×4 dey come back? Mossa, 4×4 no dey come back anywhere. We too old to form a group again. Our job is done long time ago. No more 4×4. We are good as brothers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

His message made it clear\u2014while the bond between the members remains strong, the group itself is part of history.<\/p>

Enjoy the Legacy, Not a Reunion<\/strong><\/h2>

Captain Planet encouraged fans to celebrate the group\u2019s past rather than anticipate a reunion:<\/p>

\u201cJust enjoy our old tunes. We might be performing group songs along the line at some point, but the 4×4 group is not coming back again to make music together. Everybody get over it. We are too grown to handle our individual talents. We don\u2019t have to be in a group before doing music.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>
