No more Gaddafis on our watch!&#8221;<\/em><\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1433\">The assassination threats, including inflammatory statements by <strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1257\">U.S. General Michael Langley<\/strong>, have ignited a <strong data-start=\"1274\" data-end=\"1301\">global African uprising<\/strong>. <strong data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1359\">From Ouagadougou to London, Johannesburg to New York<\/strong>, Africa and its diaspora are rising in unity, defending one of their own.<\/p><hr class=\"\" data-start=\"1435\" data-end=\"1438\" \/><h2 class=\"\" data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1498\">Captain Ibrahim Traore: Africa\u2019s New Revolutionary Icon<\/h2><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1500\" data-end=\"1705\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2670\" src=\"https:\/\/cmtv.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Traore-in-Office_Toon.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"687\" height=\"462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cmtv.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Traore-in-Office_Toon.jpeg 687w, https:\/\/cmtv.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Traore-in-Office_Toon-300x202.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/cmtv.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Traore-in-Office_Toon-110x75.jpeg 110w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px\" \/><\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1500\" data-end=\"1705\">The latest <strong data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1536\">assassination attempt<\/strong> on Captain Traore, <strong data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1583\">reported April 21, 2025<\/strong>, was <strong data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1606\">the 20th plot<\/strong> since he seized power in September 2022.<br data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1650\" \/><strong data-start=\"1650\" data-end=\"1705\">Each attempt has only strengthened African support.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"1731\"><strong data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"1731\">Traore\u2019s leadership:<\/strong><\/p><ul data-start=\"1732\" data-end=\"1953\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1732\" data-end=\"1756\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1734\" data-end=\"1756\">Expelled French troops<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1757\" data-end=\"1824\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1759\" data-end=\"1824\">Forged the <strong data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"1804\">Alliance of Sahel States (AES)<\/strong> with Mali and Niger<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1825\" data-end=\"1862\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1862\">Halted the export of unrefined gold<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1863\" data-end=\"1899\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1865\" data-end=\"1899\">Began nationalizing gold resources<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1900\" data-end=\"1953\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1902\" data-end=\"1953\">Built infrastructure with Burkina Faso\u2019s own wealth<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1955\" data-end=\"2119\">Unlike the old corrupt elite, <strong data-start=\"1985\" data-end=\"2041\">Traore lives modestly on a military captain\u2019s salary<\/strong>, building <strong data-start=\"2052\" data-end=\"2091\">schools, roads, and security forces<\/strong> instead of hoarding wealth.<\/p><hr class=\"\" data-start=\"2121\" data-end=\"2124\" \/><h2 class=\"\" data-start=\"2126\" data-end=\"2163\">Western Panic and Desperate Smears<\/h2><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2165\" data-end=\"2400\">At a U.S. Senate hearing on <strong data-start=\"2193\" data-end=\"2210\">April 3, 2025<\/strong>, General Langley accused Traore of &#8220;diverting&#8221; gold reserves. Yet <strong data-start=\"2277\" data-end=\"2305\">no evidence was provided<\/strong>\u2014only more colonial narratives meant to undermine an African leader who refuses to be a puppet.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2402\" data-end=\"2604\"><strong data-start=\"2402\" data-end=\"2436\">The real reason for the panic:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2436\" data-end=\"2439\" \/>Traore threatens Western profits and geopolitical dominance. His alliances with <strong data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2529\">Russia<\/strong> and rejection of <strong data-start=\"2547\" data-end=\"2573\">neocolonial dependency<\/strong> have disrupted the expected to march<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2791\" data-end=\"2842\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2793\" data-end=\"2842\"><strong data-start=\"2793\" data-end=\"2803\">Accra:<\/strong> Pan-African youth movements mobilizing<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2843\" data-end=\"2900\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2845\" data-end=\"2900\"><strong data-start=\"2845\" data-end=\"2855\">Lagos:<\/strong> Solidarity marches led by Nigerian activists<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2901\" data-end=\"2995\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2903\" data-start=\"5034\" data-end=\"5086\">Corrupt leaders must either reform or be swept aside<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5088\" data-end=\"5213\">As one protester in Johannesburg put it:<br data-start=\"5128\" data-end=\"5131\" \/><em data-start=\"5131\" data-end=\"5213\">&#8220;If they touch Traore, they touch all of us. We are fighting for Africa\u2019s soul.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><hr class=\"\" data-start=\"5215\" data-end=\"5218\" \/><h2 class=\"\" data-start=\"5220\" data-end=\"5268\">A Message to the West\u2014and to Africa\u2019s Leaders<\/h2><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5270\" data-end=\"5288\"><strong data-start=\"5270\" data-end=\"5286\">To the West:<\/strong><\/p><blockquote data-start=\"5289\" data-end=\"5352\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5291\" data-end=\"5352\">Our gold, our resources, our future\u2014they are ours, not yours.<\/p><\/blockquote><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5354\" data-end=\"5370\"><strong data-start=\"5354\" data-end=\"5368\">To Traore:<\/strong><\/p><blockquote data-start=\"5371\" data-end=\"5446\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5373\" data-end=\"5446\">Our brother, our leader, our hope\u2014Africa stands with you, now and always.<\/p><\/blockquote><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5448\" data-end=\"5482\"><strong data-start=\"5448\" data-end=\"5480\">To Africa\u2019s corrupt leaders:<\/strong><\/p><blockquote data-start=\"5483\" data-end=\"5584\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5485\" data-end=\"5584\">The dust is rising, and when it settles, a new Africa will stand\u2014proud, sovereign, and unstoppable.<\/p><\/blockquote><hr class=\"\" data-start=\"5586\" data-end=\"5589\" \/><p class=\"\" data-start=\"5591\" data-end=\"5675\"><strong data-start=\"5591\" data-end=\"5673\">The storm has begun.
